Looking at a block of text and rearranging it to make it more pleasing and easy to read. Taking into account font and the size of the text. We learned about Kerning. Dieter Rams is famously one of the first designers who strived to be environmentally friendly  before it was popular. He believed "design can and must maintain its contribution towards protecting and sustaining the environment." He created 10 design principles that are still used to this day.

We learned about Willi Kunz and his processes. Kunz constructs his work by starting the visual composition and lets structure and alignments to grow from the design process. He builds his typographic pieces with concern for the essential message, with the structure unfolding in response to the information to be conveyed. He who uses visual hierarchy and syntax to bring order and clarity to his messages.

He believes design must be resolved working with the actual typographic materials, and generally does not spend a large amount of time working on preliminary sketches. After the basic ideas are formed, he develops the final solution from a careful exploration of all the possibilities and iterations of his project.
