Illustrative Communication: (interfaces)
llustration is a method of communicating with images (visual communication), whether it be a story, a message or a feeling. Using art and words together helps explain or clarify otherwise difficult or complicated ideas.
Diagrammatic communication: (dashboards)
A communication diagram is an extension of object diagram that shows the objects along with the messages that travel from one to another. In addition to the associations among objects, communication diagram shows the messages the objects send each other.
Throughout history images have always been important and have been used to communicate since the beginning. An example of this is cave drawings and paintings.
Narrative: When we combine images we can tell a story.
Juxtaposition: When we juxtapose images, we can make new stories possible.
