Design is communication. Communication starts with words. Use the simplest words possible. Say it out loud and then write it down. Be concise. Take new sentences often. Passive and active voice. Copy writing, essential English. Use and know industry technology and terminology. Limit word jargon. Everyone appreciates straight forward communication.

• conclusions at the beginning, no time for detailed reading. Key words and short summaries
• one idea per paragraph, use action words
• format. limit to seven words in a list
• short word sentences. include internal subheadings.
